OF SPECIAL INTEREST
A note from Angela : Fair week has arrived and my office hours may become a little crazy due to the fact that I want to be at the fair to watch my kiddos present their projects. Rest assured that I will get my hours in, it just may not be the usual 9-3. However, if you need something please leave a message and I will get back to you as soon as I can. Thanks for your understanding! Next Sunday, July 31, will be an Ice Cream Social and Game Night here at the church . Everyone is invited and encouraged to come join in the fun! We have several volunteers participating in a homemade ice cream competition, won't sampling the results be delightful! Also, please bring along your games, either table games or outdoor games, so we can spend a relaxing evening gaming and snacking together! Help!!! The Food Pantry budget is getting tight again, so we need your help. Several churches in the area have agreed to purchase a product that the pantry needs on a regular basis. We have been assigned either 5-6oz. or 10-12 oz. cans of chicken. We would like to collect at least 600 hundred cans because that is how many the pantry uses in one month. Aldi does provide the best price. Thanks for your help once again!!
OF SPECIAL INTEREST CONTINUED…
We are trying to establish a list of our current small groups at FMC . If you are part of a small group, could you please let Angela know. Furthermore, if you are interested in joining a small group, please let me know that too. We are looking for a Sunday school class that would be interested in heading up a project to tidy up the exterior of the Pleasant Oaks property . This would include such things as pulling weeds, trimming shrubs, and any other necessary jobs to get the exterior in top notch condition and the property standing tall and proud! Please discuss this opportunity with your Sunday school class today, and then contact Robin Tahara Miller for further details. The FMW project of the month will be to make school kits for the MCC . Each school kit requires the following items: 4 spiral notebooks (70-80 sheets each), 4 unsharpened #2 pencils, 1 ruler (must be flexible plastic and 12'' in length), 1 (12 count) box of colored pencils, and 1 large pencil eraser. Many of these school supplies can be found quite inexpensively this time of year, so please help out if you are able. All donations should be placed outside Angela's office. Thanks for your help! Our congratulations go out to Nate and Heather Wyse in the birth of their son Judson James ! Judson was born on July 8 and his proud grandparents are Jim and Sharon Wyse. The piggy bank to welcome Judson to the FMC family is in the foyer, so if you have any loose change just drop it in! OF SPECIAL INTEREST CONTINUED… Relief Sale Funding Banquet , August 18th at the Essenhaus Inn and Conference Center. The Relief Sale Board is hosting a banquet to help underwrite the expenses that occur at each year's sale. These include rentals, food, supplies, publicity, etc. Our goal is to defray these costs so that more of the money spent at the sale can go to the work and minstry of MCC. Please consider hosting a table of 8 for $160 or purchasin g individual seats at $20 each. For more information, visit the releif sale website at /www.mennonitesale.org"">, email: or call . The Michiana Mennonite Relief Sale needs your help. We have need for volunteer groups or individuals for helping with a variety of opportunities with the sale. Specific help is needed with groups in the coffee booth and selling donuts (pre-made by Rise and Roll), and we are looking for a co-chair of the Pancake and Sausage breakfast. If you would like to explore how you might be involved in helping to support the ministry of MCC through this sale, please email the board of directors at or call . Please check hallway bulletin board for additional announcements!
