Classes for children through adults

Welcome to all of you who are visiting us today ! Coffee and tea are served in the kitchen following worship. Sunday school is offered for adults in our fellowship hall and sanctuary; for high school youth in the house adjacent to the church; and for junior youth and children in the basement. Nursery care is available during our worship service and Sunday school hour. Children's bulletins are also available on the ledge just outside the sanctuary. May you have a meaningful time of worship and fellowship.

Health Check-up Time We will have another health check-up time this morning with blood pressure readings. This will take place before the
worship service and also between the worship service and Sunday school.

                  This will be similar to what we have had in the past,
                  except that we will also be playing Bingo, beginning at
                  6:30 p.m. Please bring a wrapped prize for the game,
                  something from your home (do not buy anything), or
                  something that might be funny or maybe a Christmas gift
                  that you would like to re-gift. After we are finished
play-
                  ing Bingo, there will be time for you to work on any
                  hobbies or work projects that you have. Come any time
                  after 5:00 p.m. and stay as late as you want to. Also,
                  please bring finger foods or snacks to share.

O F SPECIAL INTEREST
The MYF sponsors would like to meet with the MYF fundraising committee this morning during the Sunday school hour, in the empty classroom on the left hand side of the fellowship hall.

Sermon Discussion Class The Elders, Education and Worship Com - missions met recently to plan for a sermon discussion class that will be held during the Sunday school hour on the last Sunday of January (Jan. 25) and a gain on the last Sunday of February (Feb. 22). On these two Sundays all of the adult Sunday school classes will be asked to meet together in a large group setting to discuss the sermons that were preached during January and February. Everyone will be encouraged to keep notes on the sermons each week. Beginning in March and continuing through the spring quarter, a weekly class for interested persons may be offered as an elective class , while maintaining our traditional Sunday school classes.

The current FMW special project is magazines for Northridge High School. You can bring any used magazines that you have and place them in th e box outside the church office window.

Winter Bible School 2009 A reminder, if you are planning to partic-ipate in the class that Brad Miller will be leading on The 21st Century Church during Winter Bible School on Jan. 14, 21 and 28, please sign up on the sheet in the foyer. Also, if you have a child who will be participat-ing in the children' s activities, please indicate this on the sign-up sheet for children's activities so that we can plan accordingly.

If you signed up to participate in the `` Y ada Yada Prayer Group '' during Winter Bible School on Feb. 4 and 11, you can pick up your book
this morning in the foyer. The cost is $5.

The Middlebury Ministerium is again sponsoring a choral festival to be held on Sunday evening, Jan. 25, 6:00 p.m., at the Middlebury Church of the Brethren. Choirs and ensembles from the area churches will be participating in this event along with a mass choir directed by Craig Baker from the First United Methodist Church. All community singers, regard - less of choir affiliation, are welcome to sing in the mass choir. Rehearsals for the mass choir will be held on Sunday afternoons, Jan. 11, 18 and 25, 4:00-6:00 p.m., at the Middlebury Church of the Brethren.


Michiana MEDA will meet on Saturday, Jan. 17, at 8:30 a.m., at the Sale Barn Auction Restaurant in Shipshewana for a breakfast and program. Kevin Lambright, owner of the Farmstead Inn and Antique Gallery, will discuss his businesses and their relationship to Trading Place Amer i ca. See for more information. We want to extend our heartfelt sympathies to Ann Bontrager and Liz
Mast in the passing of their sister, Edna Yoder, of Goshen, who died on Thursday. The funeral will be this afternoon at the Yoder-Culp Funeral Home in Goshen.

We also want to extend our sympathies to Loretta Troyer in the pass - ing of her brother, Lloyd Miller, who died on Thursday. His funeral will be on Thursday at the Miller-Stewart Funeral Home.

`` Lois Rhodes was discharged from The Maples last week and is continuing her therapy at home. The family has greatly appreciated the prayers, cards, visits and meals from the pastoral team and concerned friends at FMC. She feels that her recovery has been miraculous and wishes for continued prayer support. Thank you.''
